Summer Developer Community Update

Summer Developer Community Update

Hey Developers!

Happy summer! It's been a while since the last time we had an update, and there are so many new things brewing here at Move38.

Official Game Submissions

There is now an official form for submitting your games (and game ideas!) to Move38 for potential publication. Until now, we have taken each new game on a case-by-case basis, reaching out to designers who we saw on the forum, in our Discord, or even at real-life events to help them get their games ready for publication. But now, as the community grows, we want to streamline this process and make it as easy as possible for anyone and everyone to get their games on the platform.

Something you may notice about this form is that it does not require you to have fully finished a game. In fact, we're just as interested in prototypes and ideas as we are in fully programmed games. So send us what you've got, and we'll figure out what it needs to get across the finish line!

Developer Survey

We'd like to hear more from the Blinks Developer Community to learn more about you and your experiences with the Blinks Developer Tools. Filling out this quick survey will help us better support you in your game development efforts.

IRL Life Returns!

Now that the world is beginning to open up again, all of the amazing gaming events that we love to attend are coming back. At this time plans are still being solidified, but here are the ones we hope to see you all at soon!

PlayNYC

Playcrafting's incredible convention, PlayNYC, is returning to real life this summer on August 7th and 8th. This is really our home-town convention, and will be our first chance to get Blinks in front of a convention crowd in a long time. If you're in the New York area, we can't recommend this one enough and look forward to seeing you.

Gen Con (pending)

This one's a biggie. Gen Con is, without question, the largest board game convention in the western hemisphere. This year, Gen Con will be held on September 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th in Indianapolis, and it will be the first time that we'll be bring Blinks to this enormous event. We know that for the hardcore board-gamers among you, this is already on your calendar. We hope to roll out the Blinks Arcade on the floor this year for the first time!

PAX Unplugged

Speaking personally, PAX Unplugged is my favorite convention each year. Two years ago we brought the first ever Blinks Arcade to PAX Unplugged, and after a year away we're excited to go back. We're also working on a super secret project to coincide with this convention, so if you were thinking about traveling to Philly or PAX Unplugged this year, definitely look out for us on the floor.

Your Suggestions

As of right now, those are the three conventions that we've added to our calendar. But maybe there are other events that you love and think we should attend - if so, please let us know! Wanna take Blinks to an event you are attending? Let us know how we can help.

Give us a shout at #playblinks on your favorite social media channels or on the forum . We'd love to hear about the game events that you hope to attend this year and see if we might be able to bring Blinks there too!

Welcome Jude

We want to extend a warm welcome to Jude who is joining us as the Game Design Intern this summer. You'll be sure to hear more from them soon.

All my Best,
Dan King
